The yin yoga poses

Your yin practice, in your own time

I've set up this yin yoga pose library to create an overview of the most common yin poses. In this way I offer you the possibility to practice, read and get familiar with yin yoga in your own time.

Of each yin yoga pose, I've summed up the following:

  • How to enter the pose

  • How to exit the pose

  • The benefits of the pose

  • Contra indications/ modifications and prop use

  • Alternative pose

To make it extra super easy, I've put an instructed video for each of the poses as well.

Most of the poses can be held anywhere between 3 to 6 minutes, apart from the upper body poses and toe stretch which I recommend doing anywhere between 1 to 3 minutes.

It's extremely important that you listen to your body during your practice.

Get the most out of your yin practice, by listening to what you need in this exact moment.

Realise that yin yoga can trigger a lot of emotions, regards them being positive or negative - It's actually a good thing that they arise! Better out than in.

Welcome the emotion, don't judge it and it will pass by in about 90 seconds and will therefor not get stuck somewhere in your body.

Enjoy your practice and I would love to hear from you.

Lots of love,

Lisette
